Beyond Stack Overflow: Five Front End Development Resources for 2019
1. Codrops

For years, Codrops has been my go-to source for front end design inspiration. It does a great job at showcasing design-forward demos, supplementing the source files with descriptive breakdowns describing how the code works. The focus of Codrops is definitely animation-centric and it’s a resource I’ve been using frequently as we dive deeper into more complex animations at General Public.
2. Frontend Weekly

Frontend Weekly is a great catch-all for interesting articles, tutorials, and industry news — consider it like your frontend morning newspaper. It’s a great blog to catch up on over a work desk lunch hour.
3. A List Apart
alistapart.com
Founded in 1997, A List Apart covers wide-ranging issues revolving around the design, development, and meaning of web content. Even more interesting is the special emphasis it places on web standards and best practices.
4. A Book Apart

A Book Apart is more or less the analog version of the A List Apart website. The books, written by industry leaders, are brief and topic-focused. The collection goes beyond frontend development too — covering a wide range of practices like web typography, content strategy, and practical javascript. (I’m also a sucker for their sleek design and color palette).
5. Front End Masters

If you’re a visual learner like I am, watching video tutorials can be one of the most efficient ways to learn new development skills. Much like A List Apart, Front End Masters offers a plethora of topic-specific courses from a variety of industry professionals. The main difference here (other than the format) is that these courses take deep dives into the topics that they cover, many times offering up information that is hard to find elsewhere.
It can be hard to stay up-to-date in such a rapidly changing industry, but having an arsenal of resources bookmarked in your dashboard is a great place to start!
